Star Wars... played on a 1980s TRS-80 Color Computer (CoCo)!




Playing movies on computers is an extremely common thing these days. So common, that it wouldn't surprise me if some young people thought it was always possible. Well, obviously, it wasn't. In the 80s and early 90s computers had neither the storage nor display capability to play anything more than a few frames of video, at best. However this doesn't stop those who love to work on these computers to get them to do modern things.


Here we have footage from CoCoFest!2010 in Chicago, where John Linville is showing off just that! Here he's using a rarely used 256 color mode to stream his video through his stock Tandy CoCo 3.

I love stuff like this.
